Kalle Rovanpera in the Toyota Yaris Rally 1 was the fastest in Okic’s new shakedown (3.65 km) that took place this morning at Croatia rally.
The world leader set a time of 1’52″5 ahead of Neuville (Hyundai) by one tenth, Tanak (Hyundai) by 8 tenths and Breen (Ford) and Lappi (Toyota) by 1″3, with Evans only a surprise 11th off 4″ 5.
The program
The race starts tomorrow morning with the first stage of a total of 120.38 km timed, and the real unknown of the test will be the rain that is expected throughout the day. Choosing the right tires will be the real variable of the stage, made up of 8 specials, that is, 4 time trials repeated twice, which in many places may be only partially wet. We will see.
The riders will face a mix of tests that took place on Saturday and Sunday of last year, namely those of Mail Lipovec-Grdanjci (19.20 km), Stojdraga-Gornja Vas (20.77 km), Krasic-Vrskovak (11, 11 km) and Pecurkovo Brdo-Mrezinicki-Novaki (9.11 km). On Saturday the second day features 4 stages repeated twice, totaling 116.98 km timed, while on Sunday the last day features 54.48 km timed with 4 stages. A total of 63 teams competing in the Croatia Rally, including five Italian teams namely Arengi-Bosi, Covi-Lorigiola and Marchino-Briani (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) also involved in Wrc 2 and Brazzoli-Fenoli (Ford Fiesta Rally3) competing in Wrc 3. Oldani-D’Agostino competing in the Peugeot 208 Rally 4 closes the tricolor list. Overall, the presence of 11 cars from Rally 1, 28 drivers registered in Wrc 2 (Open, Junior and Masters) and 10 in Wrc 3 of which 6 participate in the Junior World Championships.
