The actress also posed with her sister’s son at the screening and even engaged in a fun banter with the paparazzi. In a video shared by a paparazzi account, Vidya can be seen jokingly telling them, “ab ye mat kehna ye mera beta hai. Meri behen ka beta hai.”
Vidya’s video was flooded with positive comments, with fans going gaga over her incredible transformation. While one user wrote, “Vidya is so fit,” another commented, “What did she do? She looks very young.” “You’re looking so beautiful, Vidya,” a third user wrote.
In an old interview with Indian Express, Vidya talked about her experiences with body shaming and how producers would encourage her to lose weight before beginning any new projects.
Vidya shared, “Before every film, I would get asked by the producers and directors if I could shed some weight. And I have been going through some health challenges for a long long time. So it was next to impossible.”
She further added, “Finally four to five years ago, when the director said this to me, I said, ‘Please, I am not going to be the body you need me to be. You need to go to the body you need.’ I find this absolutely ridiculous. Because the part was written with me in mind. So why this insistence? What is this obsession with only thin being desirable and acceptable?”
