Sitaram Yechury shared a story about receiving a late-night call from Fidel Castro during a 1994 visit to Cuba. Castro’s sudden question about India’s steel production led Yechury to always carry a statistics handbook on future visits. Yechury, who recently passed away at 74 after prolonged illness, revealed this in an interview with Samdish Bhatia.
