S Paramesh has been appointed as the new chief of the Indian Coast Guard, effective October 15. Currently serving as the officiating Director General, Paramesh brings over three decades of experience, having commanded major vessels and held key operational roles. He succeeds DG Rakesh Pal, who passed away last month.
