Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakhri starrer ‘Rockstar‘ which released in 2011 is considered a cult today. It’s considered one of the best works of Imtiaz Ali apart from ‘Jab We Met‘. ‘Rockstar’ released in theatres again last month and the film has been on a roll even though it has released again after 13 years. It has been in the theatres for a month and it’s unstoppable.
The film has collected Rs 1.16 crore in its fifth weekend after making Rs 1.23 crores in its third week and Rs 2.16 crores in the fourth week.According to Pinkvilla, the film’s total collection in one month of its re-release is Rs 5.65 crores. When ‘Rockstar’ released in 2011, it was an average hit as it made Rs 70 crore in India and Rs 110 crore worldwide. However, people have not forgotten this movie and it has just grown with time. The music continues to be popular till date and it’s why Imtiaz Ali’s collaboration with AR Rahman is so special.
Now with this Rs 5 crore more added to the film on its re-release, the total collection of the film so far in India is Rs 75 crore. ‘Rocktar’ was Nargis’ debut. For those not in the know, Deepika Padukone was the original choice for the film and Imtiaz had asked her to do it even before she had made her debut. Eventually, Nargis was roped in for the role. The film also starred Aditi Rao Hydari.
