Bollywood’s horror genre, once revered for its eerie tales and spine-chilling thrills, has lost its edge over the years. Classic films like Veerana and Raaz set high standards, but recent releases often rely on formulaic plots, diminishing the genre’s impact. The decline is partly due to overuse of Western tropes and a lack of innovation. To revive the genre, Bollywood must embrace its cultural roots, create fresh narratives, and leverage modern technology.
