The Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation provides insights into employment trends among India’s social groups: STs, SCs, OBCs, and others. The data highlights differences in labour force participation rates, worker population ratios, and unemployment rates. Gender disparities are evident with lower female participation across all categories. Although there have been modest gains for women in workforce engagement, significant challenges remain in achieving gender equality.
