Mount Everest’s melting snow and ice are revealing the bodies of climbers who perished in their quest to summit the peak. This year, a team of climbers and military personnel recovered five bodies as part of Nepal’s mountain clean-up campaign. The task, complicated by climate change, required chipping ice and using boiling water. Over 300 people have died on Everest, with many bodies still hidden. The campaign also removed 11 tonnes of trash, highlighting the mountain’s environmental challenges.
