NEW DELHI: An Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft transporting the bodies of 14 out of the 45 Indians who tragically died in a devastating fire at a building in Kuwait landed in Delhi from Kerala’s Kochi on Friday evening, confirmed a senior official.
The C-130J aircraft, which initially carried all 45 bodies, touched down at Kochi International Airport around 10:30 am.Upon arrival, thirty-one bodies were received by central and state ministers, including Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
Subsequently, the remaining 14 bodies were airlifted to Delhi aboard the same aircraft, which operated as a domestic flight from Kochi, as confirmed by airport authorities in Kerala.

In Delhi, the solemn moment of arrival was marked by newly elected MPs Yogender Chandolia and Kamaljeet Sehrawat standing on the tarmac with folded hands as the caskets were lowered from the aircraft.
The special IAF aircraft had departed for Kochi from Kuwait earlier on Friday morning, following the tragic incident that claimed the lives of at least 49 foreign workers and injured 50 others. The fire broke out on Wednesday at a seven-storey building in Kuwait’s Mangaf, engulfing the structure in flames and causing widespread devastation.
