Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies has been chosen as India’s entry for the 2025 Oscars. She plans to seek advice from Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker for the Oscar campaign. The film follows two young brides who go missing in rural India and stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Ravi Kishan.
