Following the tremendous success of its first season, the prequel series continues to unfold with the epic saga set 200 years before the original series. The new season will see actor Tom Glynn-Carney, reprising his role as King Aegon II, who takes his place on the Iron throne.
With fans predominantly siding with Emma D’Arcy‘s character Rhaenyra Targaryen to take her rightful place on the throne, Tom shared his insights on portraying the complex and highly unlikeable character. “You should never, as an actor, judge a character because I feel like if you judge them you might dislike them and that’s not good. So you have to learn to love them by whatever means that takes,” Glynn-Carney explained.
He added, “Regardless, I don’t dislike Aegon. I think he’s immensely troubled and very complex, for good reasons. I think he has abandonment issues and I think he has a guilt complex. I also think he feels inadequate and invisible, or he has been in the past, to his family.”
House of the Dragon Season 2 will begin streaming on JioCinema in India, with new episodes dropping every Monday, simultaneously with the US release. This season, also stars
Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Queen Alicent Hightower, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, Harry Collett as Jacaerys Velaryon, Bethany Antonia as Baela Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria and Matthew Needham as Larys Strong.
