Grammy Winner Lupe Fiasco to Drop Beats as Rap Professor at Johns Hopkins' Peabody Institute

Grammy Award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco has been appointed as a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute. Starting in Fall 2025, Fiasco will teach a new four-year hip-hop program that combines rap performance with career development. Known for his innovative sound and socially conscious lyrics, Fiasco has received four Grammy Awards and has previously taught at MIT as part of the MLK Visiting Professors and Scholars Program. His appointment highlights rap’s growing academic recognition.
