India on Friday reiterated its position on Tibetian spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Friday as a “revered religious leader” amid China’s protests against US lawmakers’ recent meeting with him in Himachal Pradesh. Speaking at a press conference, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “I would like to reiterate India’s position on His Holiness Dalai Lama. He is a revered religious leader and is deeply respected by the people of India.”
