NEW DELHI: Former India opener Wasim Jaffer is known for his insightful yet witty posts on social media.
And the elimination of Pakistan from this edition of the T20 World Cup gave Jaffer another opportunity to show his witty side.

Jaffer posted on X: “Contrary to popular belief, Pakistan didn’t get knocked out because USA v IRE got rained off. They got knocked out because Pakistan lost to USA 🙂 #USAvIRE #T20WorldCup”

The United States progressed to the Super Eights knockout stage at the expense of former champions Pakistan as their group match against Ireland in Lauderhill, Florida was washed out on Friday.
India topped the group with six points while the US were placed second with five points, which meant third-placed Pakistan (two points) cannot finish in the top two even if they beat Ireland on Sunday in their final group game.
The US stunned Pakistan in a match that went to a Super Over after beating Canada in the tournament opener.
Only the top two teams from the four groups advance to the Super Eights.
