Delhi University is taking steps to enforce stricter measures in student union elections to combat the influence of “money and muscle power.” Following issues in this year’s polls, including overspending and widespread defacement of public property, a committee met to discuss reforms. These included potential seat reservations for women and improved enforcement of campaign spending rules. The Delhi High Court intervened after large-scale violations, including excessive graffiti, led to cleanup demands. The university is set to report back to the court on November 11.
