“The buzz is not as much as it should be”, says trade expert Taran Adarsh told India Today. He added, “But the thing is, people know it’s a biopic and it’s not a masala film. There’s a difference between a Kartik Aaryan in ‘Chandu Champion’ and a Kartik Aaryan in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’. ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is sure going to hit the ball out of the park. But for ‘Chandu Champion’, a film like this needs to be nurtured. Biopics take time to grow. If the film is worth it, then it will catch on.”
He further added, “I’m really hoping the film works at the box office because it’s a big film, and it is coming after the summer vacations.” Predicting the film’s Day 1 collection, Adarsh said, “I think it should be between Rs 7 crore to Rs 10 crore, or maybe cross Rs 10 crore.”
