Brescia: Exhibition “Farfalle” by Claudio Amadei

The exhibition by Claudio Amadei will open to the public on Thursday April 21, 2022 at the Museum of Natural Sciences of Brescia. Butterflies edited by Renato Corsini.

The exhibition is part of the rich program of the 5th edition of the Brescia Photo Festival, the initiative promoted by the Municipality of Brescia and the Brescia Museums Foundation in collaboration with Ma.Co.f – Center for Italian Photography, scheduled for 2022 focuses on the theme of the forms of the portrait and once again consolidates the city of Brescia as one of the driving forces of photographic art.

The Farfalle exhibition tells of the fantastic world nature has to offer through Claudio Amadei’s photographs, and the location of the Brescia photographer’s prints in the Brescia Science Museum is also significant in recognizing the imaginative complexity behind his observation from a scientific point of view.
Claudio Amadei does not confine himself to the banal, if precise, representation of the specimens selected for this exhibition: his images are a collapse of reality, interpretations in an often irreverent tonal of what nature offers. The colors, backgrounds and cuts of his photographs are the result of personal research and a creative reinterpretation, enhanced by the large format of the prints.

The polysemic exhibition project aims to form an interface between photographic language and scientific language. Butterflies and moths lead to a common important goal: to expand and deepen the wonder of nature towards the creatures that inhabit planet earth with us and before us. The project also offers workshops for families with girls and boys, organized by the Museum of Natural Sciences.
An invitation to refine your gaze by observing the details and relationships of these tiny animals: a disposition that develops sensitivity, knowledge and responsibility. An important biological message that is also ethical.

The exhibition is open until December 31, 2022 from Monday to Friday at the following times: from 9 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
