Karnataka’s education system faces severe challenges after a CAG report revealed Rs 345 crore in excess fees collected by private schools during the pandemic, exacerbating dropout rates. With more than 71,000 students dropping out in six years, the state has been criticised for regulatory lapses. However, the new State Education Policy aims to address these issues through early intervention, infrastructure improvements, and support for vulnerable groups, offering a chance to reform the education landscape.
